The Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course is a 2.439-mile permanent asphalt circuit in Indianapolis, Indiana, combining portions of the iconic oval with a technical infield section to create a 14-turn road racing layout. The course blends the legendary Brickyard oval's front straight and banked turns with an infield that tests braking and cornering precision. It hosts the IndyCar Series Indianapolis Grand Prix as well as NASCAR Cup and O'Reilly Auto Parts Series road course events.
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course was completed in 2000, when Formula One's United States Grand Prix came to the Brickyard. It runs inside the famous 2.5-mile oval and uses part of it, including the main straight and the southwest turn. The layout was changed in 2008 and again in 2014 for motorcycle racing and closer competition. It has hosted Formula One, MotoGP, IndyCar's spring race and NASCAR, and is also used for sports car endurance racing.
