Oswego Speedway, nicknamed 'The Steel Palace,' is a 5/8-mile paved asphalt oval in Oswego, New York, in operation since 1951. Originally a horse racing venue, it was paved in 1952 and expanded to its current configuration in 1962. The track is renowned as one of the last strongholds of supermodified racing — non-wing, open-wheel cars capable of generating 4g forces — featured in its weekly Saturday night program. Each October the speedway converts to clay to host Super DIRT Week, the premier dirt modified event in the Northeast after it relocated from the Syracuse Mile in 2015. The facility seats approximately 10,000 spectators and has also hosted the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, ASA National Tour, and USAC Silver Crown Series.
