History of Naval Base Coronado

The Coronado Street Course is a 3.4-mile, 16-turn circuit laid out on Naval Air Station North Island, part of Naval Base Coronado in San Diego. It first hosted NASCAR in 2026, bringing the sport back to Southern California after Auto Club Speedway left the schedule after 2023 and the Clash moved away from the Los Angeles Coliseum. It is the second racing course on the base: a shorter 1.7-mile layout hosted the Coronado Speed Festival from 1997 to 2016.
