Speedway Motorsports-owned road course in California Wine Country, opened 1969 (formerly Sears Point Raceway / Infineon Raceway). Hosts NASCAR Cup Series Toyota/Save Mart 350, NHRA Sonoma Nationals, GT World Challenge America, and historically IndyCar.
Sonoma Raceway opened in 1969 as the centerpiece of a planned resort, but the resort plans were soon dropped. The track was sold to film company Filmways, fell into financial trouble and sat abandoned for several years. Jack Williams bought it in 1981 and got it on steady footing, and Skip Berg renovated it after taking over in 1986. Speedway Motorsports bought the track in 1996 and expanded it in the early 2000s. Long known as Sears Point and later Infineon Raceway, it hosts NASCAR, IndyCar and NHRA drag racing.
