About This Track

Shanghai International Circuit is a 5.451-kilometer purpose-built asphalt road course in Shanghai, China, designed by Hermann Tilke and opened in 2004. The circuit is notable for its distinctive snail-shaped infield section and a long sweeping Turn 1 that leads into a tight hairpin, placing heavy demands on tire wear. It hosts the Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix and has also been used by various other international motorsport series.
