The Dirt Track at Charlotte opened in May 2000 across Highway 29 from Charlotte Motor Speedway. The four-tenths-mile clay oval was built as a stadium-style dirt track, with seating for 14,000. It hosts dirt late models, modifieds and sprint cars, and each year it holds the World of Outlaws World Finals, the championship weekend for the World of Outlaws sprint cars and late models and the Super DIRTcar Series big-block modifieds.
